Thank you for stopping by!

Although we now consider ourselves team players, that wasn't always the case. When we married, we had different views on managing money and lacked shared goals. We justified our spending by telling ourselves we invested in the people we loved. For example, Jay bought a brand new car for Sylvie when our first baby was born, and Sylvie gifted Jay a $700 pair of shoes for his birthday to celebrate his hard work.

Unfortunately, our spending spiraled out of control without a clear plan for managing our finances. By 2017, Jay had lost his full-time job, Sylvie was in Nurse Practitioner school, and we had a new baby. Jay had to take a job out of state to keep up with our bills, putting additional strain on our family.

We kept asking ourselves how we could manage these financial demands. We were working hard, yet the 'American dream' felt unattainable. Instead, we found ourselves buried in debt, grappling with student loans, medical bills, car loans, credit card debt, and a long list of financial mistakes.

Only then did we assess the gravity of our situation and discover we were $323,000 in debt. We were at a loss about caring for our children and extended family. The strategies we had previously employed hadn't worked, and the things we bought didn't bring us the peace and happiness we craved. Our marriage was suffering, and living in two different cities meant we were spending less time together.

We clearly needed to make a significant change, so we initiated our financial reset. We decided that if we were going to succeed, we needed to work together as a family.

We moved from our five-bedroom rental, which cost $2,500 a month, into a two-bedroom house for $700 in the state where Jay worked.

Our financial transformation had begun.

Fueled by the passion to bring the transformation we experienced to our community and witnessing firsthand, as healthcare providers, the impact of financial stress on patients and families, we created Beyond Financial Reset to empower couples and families to take control of their finances, eliminate debt, save, budget, and build wealth to create stronger and more successful marriages.

We are huge advocates for financial education and have volunteered as educators and coaches in faith-based organizations, student communities, and nonprofit organizations.

Through Beyond Financial Reset, our goal is to continue positively influencing, impacting, and empowering couples to build stronger and healthier marriages by providing them with the financial education and tools they need to manage money together, build wealth, and create the lives they want.

Besides being each other’s spouses, our priority is being parents to our two beautiful girls.
